TalentInvest - Doctoral Research by Meena ThurasinghamMeena Thuraisingham is currently undertaking doctoral research at RMIT, Australia. The research topic “Exploring the strategy-shaping behaviours of public company directors: A behavioural inquiry” uses as research context large transformative decisions of 15 companies and the role directors played in shaping those decisions. The research goes to the heart of the value creation responsibilities that directors of public companies have and suggests that strategy shaping responsibilities of directors have to be studied as a highly contextualised, iterative and relationship based process. Her study, which supports a more behavioural and practice-based approach to corporate governance, has significant implications for how board effectiveness is understood, evaluated and developed.
